- attack; at home in Stony Creek Mills, Pa. The "Reading Rifle"
- spent his entire career with the Dodgers, from 1946 to 1960. His
- .344 batting average led the National League in 1953, and he
- helped the Bums become the only Brooklyn team to win the World
- Series, in 1955.
